Layers pellets info please

Post by Wozza1985 » 28 Mar 2018, 20:24

Hi just a bit of info please regarding layers pellets. I’m currently feeding my hens a layers pellet that my local feedmill make their own in 25kg sacks for £8.30 however they have recently just started stocking marriages farmyard layers pellet in a 20kg sack for 20 Pence more!! Is it work paying more even though it’s 5kg less but it’s non GM so surely better for my hens???

Thank you in advance

Personally I don't think you would notice any difference. If your chooks get a balanced diet (ie access to grass, bugs, weeds etc) then they'll do fine on your local stuff. If you feel strongly about GM then that is a different matter altogether.

As Katy said... however if you want to class your eggs as organic / free range etc then other considerations need to be taken into account.
